NCUA Warns about Telephone Fraud
Consumers Targeted by Vishing Scam Should Call Agency’s Hotline
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Jan. 21, 2014) - The National Credit Union Administration today warned consumers to beware of a new telephone fraud, known as a "vishing" scheme, that is using the agency's name in an attempt to obtain personal financial information.
Several credit union members have been contacted by an automated phone call claiming to be from NCUA and notifying consumers their debit cards have been compromised. The call then asks the receiver to follow prompts, which request personal information, including sensitive financial data and personal identification information.
Anyone contacted by this so-called "vishing" scheme should immediately contact NCUA's Consumer Assistance Center Hotline at 800-755-1030 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to report the scam. Operators answer calls Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern.

Important Scam Alert!
We have been alerted that some Community Powered members have received unsolicited text messages from representatives claiming to be with Community Powered. The text says the member is required to call a phone number to keep access to their account. When the number is called, the person asks for the member's social security number and possibly other secure information.
Community Powered will never ask for this information. This is a scam! If you have been contacted and shared your personal or account information, please call Member Services at (302) 392-2930 so that we may assist you.

New Office In Bear Now Open!
Our new state of the art facility is now open! We celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 23, 2013 that was attended by staff and Board members, local business leaders, and state representatives. Located at 1758 Pulaski Highway (Route 40) in Bear, Delaware, our new location boasts a spacious and inviting lobby, plenty of parking, and three drive-thru lanes with a 24/7 ATM for your convenience. Our new building will now also serve as the credit union headquarters.
Is our Newark location more convenient for you? No worries! We will continue to serve our members at the Eagle Run office, as well as our other locations in Wilmington and New Castle.
The hours for our new Bear office are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday hours begin March 2 and will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23 will be the last day for our Kirkwood Saturday hours. Please make a point to come and see us soon!

Multi-Factor Authentication At GoToMyCard.com
A new enhancement has come to Gotomycard.com (GTMC) that will add another layer of security when accessing your card accounts online.
Beginning November 28, 2012 Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) added an extra layer of protection to GTMC by letting users register challenge questions and answers to ensure that they are accessing the correct GTMC site and confirms that they are accessing their credit card account.
With increasing threats to financial institutions, adding an extra layer of security to GTMC is an important functionality used to address concerns of unauthorized access to financial accounts and to meet the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s recommended guidance.
Cardholders will be required to go through a registration process and select three challenge questions the first time they login to GTMC after November 28. This same functionality will be enabled for the GTMC mobile site as well.
